Tea drinkers 2: Builders

Picture 2 in my series of 'tea drinkers' illustrations. Here's some naughty builders building up quite an impressive collection of mugs. Just one more and they'll get right back to work...

Tea drinkers 1: Buddha

When I was in my final year of university, we had to do a self-promotional project of our own choosing. I came up with having a theme of tea (as I love tea) and because I also like writing silly little rhymes, I decided to do pictures of famous people that I think would like drinking tea and write little poems to go with each one.

I felt like my original images were very rushed, as I was juggling three final projects at once, so I've decided to start again, as I had a soft spot for the concept and the silly poems I came up with!

Here is number one: Buddha!

Owly

Recently I finished a collage of a barn owl for Jason's Auntie Anne (at her request). She has very kindly agreed to make my wedding dress for me, so I'm glad I could do something in return (although I don't think this quite compares to the amount of work that goes into a wedding dress...)

I'm quite pleased with how he's turned out! He's the most complicated bird I've attempted to collage, as there's soooo many crazy colours and patterns going on in his wings!

Here he is framed and sitting on my dining room fireplace mantel:

Childhood art! - An Ideal Place

"I would like to live in a place called Michelle's Peaceful Perfect Forest. My house would be wooden made of logs. There would be a magnificent waterfall sparkling in the sun near the mountains. I'd love all the friendly animals and I'd love to play with them. I'd love to explore the place. I'd see diving dolphins. I might eat lovely dinners. I'd go swimming in the sparkling river. I might have a picnic with my family in the shady trees near the river. And there would be a magical smiley sun."

That sun is terrifying.

My hairy beasty and I...

On this sunny bank holiday Monday I was cooped up in my little art room and decided to do portraits of me and Jason (a bit lame, I know!)

The key features of Jason are his fab massive eyebrows, abundance of hair and adorable slightly upturned nosey  ^__^

The key features of me are my lank hair, puffy under-eye-bags,rabbit teeth and nose shaped like an old boot.

I scanned, edited and printed them out to put in little frames and have them look at each other adoringly!
ho hum!

Blossom Tree Birdy

I made this picture for my friend Mandy's birthday. She has a daughter called Connie Blossom -isn't that such a pretty name?! Hence, birdy on a blossom tree :)

Feet don't fail me now...
